The wife has been getting interested in fishing and we had a couple hours this weekend so we went and hit a few farm ponds that this time last year looked more like mud holes. We really didn't know if anything survived the low water. Put her on a white roadrunner with chartruse body and told her to get with it. On about her second cast she asked me "what is that stick out in the water?" It was the top section of her rod that came off when she cast, when she got it reeled up she had a nice Gill on, I couldn't believe it. We caught several more gills as well as some bass. She caught about a 3 1/2 pound bass and about dropped her pole in the water when she got it in from sheer exitement. Needless to say the pond still has fish and I'll probably not be able to leave the wife at home to go fishing anymore (not that that's a bad thing).
