Lake Poinsett Report
Poinsett Lake in the NE part of the state was cold and wet today. However, the fish didn't seem to care. Blue and white jigs tipped with rosie red minnows was what was on the menu today. No big ones to speak of just good for the dinner plate. All came out of 13 to 16 FOW fishing at 10 foot. The bite was very light and it took a slow, slow drift to get them to bite. The wind sock out the back did the trick to slow the boat down.

Nice string of crappie 10fish and it was definately cold and wet. Glad it paid off for you, thank for the report and picture.

Nice catch, makes my empty stringer look bad lol.

Blue and white jigs: My Daddy's favorite crappie combo.
That's sure a nice mess o' fish you have there. I really like slow drift tecniques if I can keep the boat slowed. Sometimes it get rather busy when you drift over a good school, eh? That's what it's all about.
Thanks for the information. By the way: Welcome to the forum!!

10Fish,
Did you happen to remember what the water temp was? I have been trying to keep an eye on it down there but have not made it in about a week or so.

The water temp was 50.3 which was down from 55 last week. All these fish were caught in the first big cove just east of the spillway. Between the mouth of the cove and the dead snag.
