Ran across this website and what caught my eye was the bright paint dust. Was wondering if anyone has every tried this, here is a link to the site it is called Herbies Magic Dust

Never tried it myself but it looks like soem kind of powder paint, a buddy on another board has about 5-6 different brands of powder and with most places they buy powder by the pound and then repackage it with their own label.

I've tried a few colors that I bought at a sport show this year and was very happy with it.They have some colors that pro-tec doesn't and since it comes in ounce jars you can get a few more colors to work with for your dollars as opposed to the two oz. jars that pro-tec has out.Their glitter paints are nice as well.
Powder paint is just a waste o money if you ask me.. Iv said it before on here i gave it up yrs ago.. Just doesnt hold up and cant get the consistent color down.. JMHOQuote:

Looks like powder paint to me. Like some of the colors though. I buy it by the pound so I know I have the colors I want for a long time.
As for durability, have not found anything better, yet. As for ease of use, will likely never find anything better.
But to get fancy bright intricate paint jobs it ain't the best way to go for sure.

The trick with PP is in the cure temp/time.
Think cadman has used Herbies stuff - I don't have any experience with it.
LedHed is correct, I have used it and I still do. There powder is different than Pro-Tec, however I like some of the different colors. Herbie's Magic Dust also blends well with Pro-Tec and all the other dozens of powder paint manufacturers. Also it has to be baked like all other powder paints, to achieve a hard durable finish.
We all have are choice of preferances, and I'm not here to argue the fact, but there are things you can do with powder paint that you can not do with vinyl paint or nail polish. I do not make crappie jigs, so my point is not valid here. I do however make bigger jigs with tied hair and spinnerbaits. I can show you pics of 1/4 oz + jigs and spinnerbaits that are powder painted, that I think are impressive. The only way you can achieve better painted jigs is with an air brush, but then you have to clear coat to preserve the paint. If you are interested, PM me your e-mail, and I will send you some pics.
