I suspect they are too new to get much response.
IBNFSHN hit the nail on the head. I doubt many folks have one yet.
I have a LCX-27C that I'm adding the broadband sounder to. It is close to a HDS-7 except for the future SI and the basemap. I plan to provide a report on the broadband sounder vs the analog signal once I receive it, get it installed, and test it on the water some.
I can tell you that the LCX-27C is a fantastic unit. I suspect the HDS-7 will be even better.
I have the hds 5 and I love it.The lake insight is awsome.
I have the HDS5 also and love it but there is a lot of stuff to remember.when I bought the unit i thought it was preloaded with lake maps but i was wrong bought a naviontics card put it in and booted it up to find out its not compatabile yet went to lowrances website and the firm ware up grade will be out sometime in march.
I was kind of interested in the HDS series but when I started pricing them the interst soon cooled. I was looking at the HDS-8 and they run around 1100 or so. Then if I want side-imaging another transducer and adapter. Plus side imaging not available until fall. Personally I think I will stick to my Humminbirds until the price tag and investment becomes a little clearer.
I have seen it posted on several sites that ONLY the HDS8 & 10's will be able to do the SI thing with a additional transducer and adapter. Not any of smaller units. May be worth looking into further before buying.
I think they are going to call it "side view"....neverless, it is available on all HDS models. 3rd paragraph...
