Has anyone ever sunk 5 gallon buckets filled with gravel to make stump fields and if so how do they work.A buddy and I sunk some yesterday and was just wanting to know if anyone else has ever tried it.We are mostly going to bass fish around them.

it should work. i would think it might work even better if you use peegravel. the fish would spawn on the tops of the buckets. fan the peegravel out around the buckets. creating an even larger spawning area. if you need me to go check them out for you just let me know. i'll be glad to help you out and let you know when the fish start using them. lol
it would take forever to fill each one, just put one big shovelful in each and they will sink. I know of a lake that has at least 5000 in it. Just get it from a gravel bar, sand bar material might wash out. it's too fine.
Build it and they will come.........
Based on MANY of his posts, I think crappietexan is a BIG believer in putting out crappie structure. I'm with you brother!
Talked to many that said it worked well.........for me I haven't caught squat around mine and I put out some really large groups of buckets filled w/ rock? However, I were them out when I add treetops to the buckets and sink them. As for bass....might work?
