Went out for a little fishing at about 12:30 this afternoon and in about 2 hours got 9 nice ones. Most were female full of eggs. They were in water from 6 1/2' to about 8 1/2'. Plenty enough for us to fry a little tomorrow.
Had 3 that were over 13" and I think the smallest was 12" so all nice ones.

I went yesterday too, but only for an hour and got 3 that I gave away. At that spot and with clouds I used a FL Red/FL Green Crystal Antron/ Bllack Barred Chart marabou tail.
Today I started there and the sun was out, but that color still worked, but then I moved and the water was a bit clearer at that spot. So I went with Silver/FL Yellow Chenille/White with blue tips crosscut rabbit tail and it paid off.
All were Roadrunners.

Nice catch! I do a fair share of jig trolling, but not too much in spring. Usually more in late summer and fall in deeper water. Looks Yummy!!!
Probably 95% of my spring fishing is trolling water 4'-14' depending on how far into spring it is. Started this type fishing in about 1978.Quote:

Nice batch a Black's Skip their moving shallow on Me right now never have fished this lake during the spawn gotta find their holding route's on their way to the bed's.
