Car Battery for weight?
Would it be a bad idea to ecase a old 12v battery in a bucket of concrete to help sink a masive bundle of bamboo?
I had one on hand and if I drain the acid and wash out before I cover with concrete? Only polution would be the lead that I can think of. Might the concrete keep the lead contained?

I think that would be a really, really bad idea. I'm sure the game & fish commission wouldn't like it either.

I have seen a couple batteries used for brush weights during a big drawdown a few years back. I wouldn't do it. One thing that I don't like to see is guys using old hydraulic oil buckets to sink brush. I feel like they can not be completely cleaned out. We have a lot of loggers in our area.

Use the car battery or move to Texas?
OP, in their own GENTLY way they are advising you to seek other forms of weight. Probably not the best idea...a nearby rock (natural) or a cinder block would do just as well and not cause any detriment to the ecosystem.
