Killer structure for under $2:50 just a little sweat

Well this takes 1 bag of ready mix for 2 units I use 4 old brick's in each I mix the cement pour a little in the bucket 1/2 heavy braided rope tie knot in each end loop over stick in bucket set a brick on each end pour mor cement alternate last 2 bricks little more cement let dry 4 days dump out pic. #1 I cut heavy oak limbs and trim off small limbs so jigs don't hang up while limb is standing feel the balance of it I use empty bottles and duct tape them to the heaviest limbs haveing done this enough I know about how many it tales to make limb upright in water I'll tie the narrowest limb in the middle to the loop in concrete then I'll tie the other limbs around it on shorter pcs. so, they dont stand all the way up this flares the build out more creating more cover this 6 footer I'll put in 9-10 foot of water for prespawn fishing I use this same set-up deeper then go around it with bamboo or cane in a 10-15 foot circle the fish load them up.I use 5-6 limbs per drop all of these will go in this one

I do something simialar I put pvc in concrete 1 1/2 inch then I put limbs in the pvc and run a screw into the pvc through the limb and sink . first let the concrete dry and then insert the limbs in the pvc. wasn't sure I made my self clear

Looks like a great idea. People that just got hit by the ice storm should have plenty of tree tops to trim down and use. I know I do.

I thought all those bottles on the bank were thrown there by bank fishermen. I didn't realize they were intentionally put there :confused:.I guess I should just quit gathering the trash up every time I go fishing.

Looks good but I perfer pallet stake beds. Costs are even lower.

rocks - free
nails - costs pennies per pallet bed.:D

It's a way of doin' business, but nothin' beats the holdin' power of old-fashioned cedar trees tied to an old concrete block with cable pieces donated by the local cable company. Just bore a hole thorugh the trunk of the tree and slide the cable through, coming back around into one end of the block and tying it off. WaLaH. Totally free and a minimum of effort at that.

Using cotton cord and tying to the tree, a cotton bandana parachute would be the best way to go, any cotton cloth that shape for a chute would be the best of all worlds....a chute on the way down, settling on the branches spread out and providing shade until it rots away....no pollution......all natural materials. Sorry I didn't think of this first, but at my age, a lot of my thought is a roundabout journey. The trapped air will simply strain through the chute on the way down and no pollution. Tie the 4 corners to different branches to hold the chute open providing extra branches to hold it up in the middle areas.

Illinoisgiller, I'll be carrying an extra bag in my hip pocket to de-litter every time I go out. Your point is well taken....Wasn't thinking clearly about the cable ties, the ever rotting wood and the resulting bottle debris. Thanks.

Im thinking those bottles would show up as big fish on the fish finder.I believe the air bladder is what a fish finder reads.

We have problems with fesh Cedars mossing over. The trees are too thick for big fish and jigs are always hanging up. We quit them long ago in favor of more open cover like stakebeds. The biologists say you need min of 8'' spacing for good cover for big Crappie. Less dense means less lost jigs.;)

Gotta cut them cedars the year before!!!
