couple of good bluegill patterns

Here's a couple of bluegill patterns that I've used for quite some time and they have proven themselves over and over!

In the photo above, the top jig is tied on a TMC3761 #12 hook with a blue and a red bead for the head... some chartreuse ultra chenille and a tail of ice blue wing-n-flash.

The bottom jig is tied on a TMC 200RBL #16 hook with a copper bead and purple bead for the head.... some chartreuse ultra chenille and a tail of black and pink marabou.

This jig is tied on a TMC 300 #10 hook with black crystal chenille and a tail of black and red marabou.

just one quick ? why do you cut your marabou tails down? dont you think this takes away movement from the tail...just asking

those are the straggler pieces left from other jigs wherein i used the 'bou.... i've never noticed any difference whether the 'bou was natural (had tips) or nipped off... them bluegill's nailed it no matter what.... some folks like 'em one way and some the other.... i've just never noticed a considerable difference in either method... for me, whatever the fish are hitting is what i'm gonna throw to 'em and they can throw themselves into my fryer!! heheee

these are my throw-away jigs and they work like little devils while they last! and they work good...
