Trolling rods on sale at BPS

The Wally Marshall Tightline Special rods are on closeout at BPS right now. They have the 12 and 16 footers for 29.77 and the 18 footers for 39.77. I just got my 2 new 18 footers in today and think they are going to be just right for those CLEAR lakes this summer to get that bait out away from the boat. Ambush those Crappie before they even know you are on the lake!!! At that price they are just giving them away. I have been using 16's the past year and the difference between them and using a short rod is significant with respect to the number of hits. Getting the bait away from the boat when spider rigging in front is one of the best ways to increase your catch. Anyone who spider rigs should take a look at these.

I got 2 in today also but I will be using them to pull crankbaits when it warms up. 18' out each side with a 8' wide pontoon boat means I will be covering 44' of water without using planer boards.;)

Sounds like you are getting ready to seine some lakewater! I use them for crankbaits also...because of the stiffness.... I have 4-12's, 2-14's, 2-16's and now the 2-18's. I usually troll jigs with BnM Pro Staff or Capps & Colemans 16 footers but I am thinking the 18 ft tightlines may also work ok for jigs because of the length and the tips are very sensitive. Can't wait to try them out on LM this spring and summer. I have only tried pushing crankbaits from the front with 2 oz egg sinkers to get'em down...I have never longlined them from the back, but I am told there are times that is the way to go.

Ordered a couple of 16',but they said "not available-discontinued" so I guess I missed them.
