I have a bunch of pallets that are not being used and I would like to create some structure. I have 4x4 pallets and 2x4 pallets. If I were to strip the cross pieces of some of the pallets then re-attach on others, is 2' or 4' high enough to attract crappie and hold them? Any help would be appreciated.
Depends on how deep you're going to be sinking them. I like mine 4ft tall, but have been known to put a couple 2ft stakes on if I'm running low on materials. If I was planting them in less then 6 ft of water, I'd go with 2 ft stakes. The 4 footers seem to work best in 10-15 FOW.
I've had good luck with 2' stakes even in over 8' water.
