Thought I would share some of the first crappie jigs i've tied...
What is the material for the tube heads or are they actually tubes?
They look good!!
I cut off the skirt off of a standard variety tube that you use on a ledhead tube jig. Insert it over your choice of feathers. Nifty, easy tyin....
I really like the first one. The others are cool in their own right. Nice work.
Good job the tube is a good idea.
Haven't seen any tube and feather combo. Figured i'd try to make some.. Can't wait to try umm out..
interesting jigs
They make me wonder if using a vinyl paint AFTER the feathers are tied in would work. Would definately set the feathers and give them a good hold.
I just started tying jigs and am experimenting. I tie off the feathers and use cheap fingernail polish to glue the thread in.. I take a hair dryer and dry the finger nail polish. Doesn't take but a minute to dry it. Then I just pic a color tube, cut off the skirt and insert.
I took one a part that sat over night to see if the rubber or the glue was affected and didnt see any issues.. Am wondering what happens when I inject a homebrew scent in the jig.. Working on that project as well... I have tons of ideas and try to think outside the box some.. The lakes I fish in are pressured and just wondering if designing something they haven't seen will actually work...
Can wait to get out and try some of my ideas on Crappie.
