eagle 500c locater

After hitting the jackpot with gift cards to BASSSS PRRROOO SHHHHOPPPP from employees, wife, son and daughter I intend to replace my front locater on my procraft. I am looking at the Eagle 500c to replace my eagle 320. I did ok with the 320 it lost its screen after a couple of years. I dont think I need gps on the front of the boat so that will keep cost down. i am looking at color this time because the grey scale was hard to read with sunglasses on, I'm told color makes that better. Anyone have expeience with this unit?

I have one and the color is great, even with sunglasses on. I recently started experiencing a problem with the display acting up. If I have the unit off, but power connected, it will turn itself on and start flashing and beeping. I am waiting on a reply from Eagle as to what the problem will be, but I suspect the display will have to be replaced. The unit is 2 to 3 years old.

I live in Tulsa where Lowrance/Eagle is located. I lost the display in the Eagle 320 I currently have. I went to the factory and they dont offer repair. They will let you purchase a refurbished unit with warranty. At the time the 320 was selling for 159.00 and I could get a refurbished unit for 99.00.
