Here are a couple more jigs I've tied. I've been doing a little tying with Scrapper the past couple of days. Please let me know what you think, especially where I can make improvements. Am I doing anything wrong/right? Here they are!

They look good to me. Only thing I would do is maybe add a little flash in the tail.
Have you put them in water yet though? Might want to try it out and see how the marabous flares with motion back and forth.
One Q: Do you wrap the marabou around the shank or cut and tie in?
Your jigs look good. As to your question on the maribou once you tie it in don't wrap it up the hook you just wrap your tying thread and bind down the ends to the shank of the hook.
Actually the best way so you don't build up bulk is tie your tail in like you normally do and make sure it's locked in. Now you'll have some excess above the tie in point, leave it!! Prepare your chenile and tie it in and lock it to the shank of the hook with your thread. At this point your tail is tied in your chenile is tied in and you'll have the excess of the tails above your tie in point. This makes your chenile look good when you wrap it in.
Keeping your chenile out of the way take your thread and wrap your thread and excess tail material all the way to the head of your jig and put in a half hitch to hold the thread. Take your chenile and wrap it up the hook shank neatly while covering everything on the shank close t the head of the jig.

Keep practicing you've got a really good start. I know I gave you alot to try and visulize and I hope it's clear enough.

No, I was wondering if he wrapped the chenille feathers around the shank of the hook, basically the same as a hackle but all at the base of the hook. The reason I ask is I have had much better luck getting a good flair from the marabou when I wrap the chenille around the shank rather than cut ends and pieces and simply tie them in. My Coho Candy jigs/flies flair out wide and easily when I do it this way.
Here is how I do it:
Start with a base of thread, then tie the base of the feather with the end of the quily facing toward the eye of the hook. Make sure the thread is above the marabou toward the eye of the hook. Now take a hackle pliers and grab the very tip of the marabou. Slowly and tightly wrap the marabou around the hook over the part you tied in on the shank keeping it as tight as possible and keeping all the marabou feathers pulled down toward the point.
This results in a super flair if you want it to. This can all be tied in so they lay flat too simply be wrapping a little thread around the feather to make them stay down.

fish_4_all, I tie down the marabou, cut it off, then tie in my chenille, move the thread up to the head, wrap the chenille up the body, and then tie off the chenille. Then I tie off the jig using a whip finisher. Frustrating to use the tool the first couple of times, but I've got the hang of it now.
It seem's to Me black must be a favored color where you fish ?,or is it here's a tip to building the best jig for your area don't tell anyone I told you this(he he he ) if you have more than 1 pole I normanly run 6 while I'm working out colors tip every jig with a minnow believe it or not you will catch more fish on one color more than the other's next tie up 6 jig's with same tail color add different head color's re-fish I often make 2 trip's to make sure ounce again one jig will have better result's ounce I've done this I'll change body color's I've learned crappie are very color sensitive fish some color's trigger different bite's bigger fish preferr something a little different not always a larger jig you'll soon have the best color for that time with the current water conditions there's 4 jig's I fish throught out the day on one lake depending on the light and you better change within 30 mins time or you are through catching them ounce you have that color hange on to it you'll need it next year you'll have to do this all over when the fish change depth also ? maybe body style's just a little info from someone who's still learning himself.
