Leaving Christmas night for Lake Okeechobee. Will be camping in Moore Haven, chasing ducks and wondering how the crappie fishing is doing. Used to do well on them around Bird Island at night many years ago. Also around Uncle Joes cut. Is it any good anymore?
You might as well leave your poles at home. Fishing has been bad this year. Have a couple of guys that have been out to bird island a couple of times and did not catch anything.
Just been a bad year all around doen here.

I was going to the north end a few weeks ago and called the bait store in Okeechobee (Garrards) for a report. They pretty much told me not to waste my time and to stay home. Now when the bait store tells you not to come, you can bet they ain't biting. I went to Clewiston back in October and got skunked. If you can make it to Farm 13, the bite is hot right now. I saw several limits last Saturday.
Anyone know how Lake Marian is doing? Most of the locals of Okeechobee go there if fishing gets bad on the big lake
