Finally got out on some ice today with my new auger, flasher and fishing suit everything worked great. The first lake i went to had some open spots so wast able to move around much but was able to catch 1 bluegill and perch that was a whooping 3" long :(
The second lake i went i had better luck, stayed their for 3 1/2 hours and limited out (25) on black crappies, no really biggies but had a blast so looks like I'm out for another trip tomorrow.
Congratulations on getting out on the ice and catching the crappie! I'm still wating for the ice to form in NW Missouri. The cold front moving in this week should help out that situation. I hoping to road trip up to Iowa this weekend to finally get on some hard water!
Congrats on the ice. We are starting to freeze up but no safe ice yet. Maybe by this weekend.
