New North Florida guy!
Hey guys...Sirmo here.
I'm an avid bass fisherman, and have been finding myself drawn back to my younger roots of crappie fishing.
I gave it a go the other day and realized I really need to brush up on my skills on this species for fun AND food!
So introducing myself. I have crappie fished the St. Johns River and Oklawaha River as of lately, but am thinking of trying:
Lake Sante Fe
Crescent Lake
Orange Lake
Ect.
I would love to open some dialog or even meet some other local guys on the forum. Hope to talk to some of you soon!
Have boat will travel!

Been here 1 1/2 years.
Hey man,
I live in Gainesville now. Moved up from Orlando area where we used to average 25-30 per trip. Since being here, we have probably done better than that. Last year on Newnan's, we caught approximately 600 fish in 2 weeks in Feb. and March. I have been fishing Orange lately. Went last Saturday and caught 30 but most were 10" or less. Having trouble finding the big ones lately. However, fished Orange during the summer and caught many 15"ers. Willing to go anytime. Give me a PM and we can exchange #'s and meet up.

Welcome. You missed a great slabfest at Lake Talquin last saturday. What a great week of fishing, sharing and great times. Check out the Georgia site. These guys are real active and are happy to share info. Many are posting pictures of our good times and some of the fish caught.
Use the search to give you unlimited info.
Good luck.

Welcome to the group Sirmo. I'm kinda new here also, but if you need any help on Cresent Lake give me a shout. I have been fishing it off and on since the mid 60's.
Took my dad and nephew out Thanksgiving weekend and caught just enough to fry. I was on the lake last Saturday by myself and ended up with 19 keepers before the Poker Run boats almost ran me over. I wanted to run down to 3 Banannas and cuss someone out. I bet there was at least 30 boats that did not give a Damn about anyones safety.
Anyway if I can be of any help let me know.

p.s. I read you other post about Trout Creek, I have had better luck in Six Mile Creek but never caught a boat load there either.
