Cane creek fishermen
Would ya'll mind to share some of your techniques for fishing in shallow,clear weed filled water?i'm not use to fishing anything like that and there happens to be a lake in southern Mo(Duck creek)that sounds alot like Cane creek,it too is supposed to have big blacks in it and i'd like to go back down there prepared....thanks for your time.

For me, with the clear water and the fish relatively shallow at the top of the hydrilla, which right now is about 6 ft from the top. It is really high in the water early in the fall when the water is warm but sinks as the surface temps cool. I do better by casting away from the boat, find an under water top or structure and back off and cast to it. This is with a shiner and cork, or floating a jig under a cork. Use the long poles, so with that much line out and 5 to 6 ft. of line down from the cork, you can get a better hook set with a longer pole than with a short rod and reel. When it's warmer like early fall and the water is above 60 degrees I like to cast a small spinner like a roadrunner.

Thanks Jerry that will get me started,i'm not much on clear water but if it produces fish like that i need to re-think my way of thinkin.
