November 17th to Lake Monroe
Weather looked pretty good this morning about 7:00a.m. except a little chilly. By the time wife and I got to Lake Monroe there were white caps, but the sun was shining. Lauched at the marina and ran across the lake to the north side to try and avoid the NW winds. In the water by 9 and by 10 the wind had died down and it was a lovely day - even warmed up a little.
Trolled back and forth near Stone Island and got 5 - they should be cooking in a few minutes. Seemed like most were holding at about 5 feet in 9 feet of water. Off the water a little after 1:00.
If I had been smart (not usually so though) I would have lauched on the north side of the lake just east of the old power plant on Enterprise Road. Nice little launch there, but tight to the road -you have to back off the road into the launch - not much traffic there though.
Anyway next trip - maybe later this week if weather is decent - to Lake Harney - have to try Lake Jessup now too since all the boat launches have been opened by the county.
