Howdy! Im kinda new to the full time sport of crappie fishing Ilive real close to Lake Tyler ,but its not a bad drive to Palestine,L O P or Fork,if any of you Gentelmen have some good starting points Id be grateful.
I posted what I little I know about Lake Tyler on your other thread.
The most popular spot on Palestine is the 155 Bridge. Most people
fish the end closest to the beer stores. Depending on time of year, the
fish could be 10 ft deep to just off bottom. you will know how well they
have been biting by the number of boats there each morning .
Later on ( usually by christmas ) the steep bluff near the DEEP END
launch ramp can be good. There is also a deep hole in the dam riprap
that can attract fish in winter. A good way to find this hole is
to start at the extreme west end of the dam and idle east keeping
your depth at 17-18 feet, maintain your distance from the dam (
50 feet or so as I remember ) the bottom will fall away to 23-27feet
for about 20 yards. Mark this spot.
