Jig Body!
I was on a fly tying website and they were talking about using fabric paint to form bodies on the flies that they tied.So I decided to give it a try on some jig heads and it seems to hold up really well.

Are you putting that over thread or chenille? It looks good
-
Just over regular cotton/polyester sewing thread.
-
Looks good where did you get your paint.
-
The paint is actually used for T-shirt designs and can be purchased at any craft store.Comes in a variety of colors also. The paint I used is called SCRIBBLES 3D Paint.

Len,
thanks for sharing. these jigs look very durable and great colors too.
how long does it take to dry? can they hang or do they need to be rotated?
-
They take about 24hrs. to dry and all you need to do is hang them!
-
man!
they look real good, I mean a professional lookin job too. those bodies definitly have appeal, and the colors are perfect.

I have used that stuff on some jigs earlier this year and it worked alright. Not very durable, You might get 3-4 fish before it comes apart. I shot alot of docks with mine and when it would hit concrete, it would start peeling off. They make some paint that glows in the dark that I used in the dark shadows :D

Hey Len, nice looking jigs, i like the body look. Do you give the body a clear coat, when the body is dry.
Can you give a link, to where you got the idea ? THANKS
