Horseshoe lake
I am looking for some information on the Horseshoe lake that is near Memphis. I have a friend that has a camp there, and am going to meet him this spring. He doesn't fish much, so I am on my own. How is the crappie fishing there? When is the spawn? Also, I would love to see some photos of the lake. Any other information would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Horseshoe Lake!!!
Horseshoe lake is a good fishing lake. Their are some very nice crappie, bream, bass, and catfish. Crappie spawning seem to be very well around March and April. Didn't do too good this year for the offset in the weather, but hopefully by next spring, things should livin' up. You can leave me a personal message when you are coming and I can let you know how things are going there. Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks for the replies. Would ya'll consider Horseshoe a good crappie lake. Also do the fish spawn in the cypress trees? I want to go in the spring when the fish are shallow. In south La. that usually starts in early to mid March, I would assume it would be a bit later up there. Maybe mid April?? Once again thanks and if it is ok I might PM some of you guys.

tiger, horseshoe is a great crappie lake. the size of the fish may vary at times. during july and august we were catching 100 to 150 every time we went. they normally run between 8 and 12". but there are some big ones in there. we were trolling minnows in 12 to 15 foot of water. i think most people catch them around the docks when they are spawning.
