GARMIN MAP76CsX Field Report
Well, folks, based upon all the excellent I have read on this forum, and a special thank you to Jerry Blake, I purchased my GSP this week and took it out yesterday and today.
Compared to the Etrex (ms?) by Garmin, this instrument is all a guy needs to find the brush tops. It is easy to use and right on the money, even with the box-stock maps that come with it.
I will be buying more maps but not the inland lake maps. I just don't need them. I will be buying the On the Trails mapping, which shows detailed contours of the dry land...perfect for hunting.
It is just a rock-solid little instrument and I want to highly recommend it to anyone thinking of getting a hand-held GPS. The main advantage is that I can take with me to a friend's boat, or to the woods and can even get the turn-by turn instructions for my wife when she goes on out-of-town trips.
So, "thumbs up" and thanks to all the great information found on this forum, I bought with confidence, and now have a GPS that is serious stuff for crappie fisherman's arsenal. <><
