Are there any flies that outproduce others when it comes to fly fishing for crappies? Is a 3wt rod ok? I use it for bream, but never crappie.
I know guys that use 1 wts so you're good. Flies you can play all day with switching to get them to hit. Wooley buggers, crappie candy, nymphs, pheasant tail nymphs are all good. Lot's of new foam patterns out there.

Wet Flies for Big 'Gills and Crappie
I have done well on both of these wet flies, the IM and the IBG. The other fly I like to use when the Specks are deep is the Crappie Candy.

tail pheasant rump maraboo and crystal flash
collar pheasant maraboo
body hares mask blended with light bright dubbing.
Throw in your favorite water and hold on tight:D
