This was my son's first catfish ever. As you can see, he was a bit excited!
Anyways, the lake has only had water for 2 years now so the fish are pretty small. We sent him back to get bigger.

What a great start for your son. Prospect used to have water in it for many years I learned ho to trout fish there when I was younger. Thanks good they drained it and cleaned it up. From what I heard they found boats, tv's, and a VW Bus at the bottom of the lake. Hopefully they keep it clean this time around. It has the potential to be a great lake. Again congrats to your son.

I don't recall exactly why they drained the lake (wasn't interested in fishing at the time). I think it had something to do with water retention. It's pretty low at the moment due to the lowest rainfall on record so far this year. At the end of July, we'd only received 3" year to date of rainfall. We have finally received some rain this week though.
I did make the mistake of releasing a saugeye and a walleye back into that lake though. I figured that they were too small. It turns out that they are great eating at that size.
