Took Dad Bream Fishing
Had my Dad meet me at the boat ramp at daylight this morning. He is 75 and his health is not real good so he only goes fishing if someone can go with him. Since he can't take the heat or cold very well and due to my work schedule the times we can go are limited. With 2 fishing poles and 100 crickets we hit the bayou. By 9:30 we were out of crickets. Pulled out a bottle of white crappie nibbles and fished about another hour. Had a really good time. He is already talking about going again soon. Told him I was available tomorrow, but he said he would probably be to stiff from sitting in the boat today to go tomorrow. Will get him back out soon....

There were 107 fish there. There were quite a few small ones, but those are the ones my dad likes. Fry them crispy and eat the whole thing. In fact I think he would have thrown the bigger ones back if I had not been with him...

Way to go. Good day with dad and good mess of fish. Congratulations. My wife is the same way with those small fish. Sure is easy to let her keep em, but some of them never see the crispy side of life, cause part of the small ones kept, somehow magically get taken and put on a circle hook for catfish.
Enjoyed seeing a good mess of fish.

That's a great day on the water, getting to spend time with your Dad & brining home a cooler running over of some great fish. Congrats to both of you!

Good on you for that!
I lived in W. Monroe for almost 9 years, '89-'97.... just off Wall Williams Rd. I enjoyed fishing Cheniere a 'little'
