WOW what a Gill!
Check out this new record that I found on the International Game Fish Association site. And we think that a 2.5 lb crappie is a slab. This is a slab!
"Fly-fishing 2 kg (4 lb) class tippet, on an Auburn, Ala., USA lake, George P. Mann, of nearby Opelika, landed a bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus) on April 15 after an eight minute fight. Caught on a Grab-a-Holt fly the slab weighed 1.08 kg (2 lb 6 oz). He’s hoping to beat the current IGFA record of 2 lb caught June 2001, in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, USA."

That is one nice gill! And to be caught on a fly rod makes it that much better.
