Ok I know nothing about painting jigs and this will be dumb question but i gatta ask. I just started using powder paint. I followed the heat it up dip it in powder shake and bake and it works well. My question is what does the fluid bed do exactly? I read steps and it sounds like you still heat jig dip and bake so whats the bed for?

I never heard of a liquid bath for painting with powder paint. I have heard of a fluid bed though, and I believe this has nothing to do with liquid or fluid, rather the powder paint is put in a cup like contraption with air hoses attached to it, gently blowing air into the bottom of the cup. This loosens and lightly suspends the powder paint, making it easier to swish the jighead through the powder. This lets you get a thinner coat of paint I believe, which can be tricky to accomplish just dipping the jighead into the powder paint container. The jighead must still be heated before swishing through the powder. Hope this was what you were lookin for, I never done it with the fluid bed though, just read alot about it. Alot of guys make their own fluid beds, and take great pride in tweakin it just right, some report problems making their own. there was alot of talk on tackle underground about this awhile back, but I believe they only let paying members view their stuff...kip
The liquid bath is to cool the jig off. I never use one but can see where it could be helpful if you were layering different colors.

The fluid bed helps keep the powder paint from getting too heavy of a coat and you use less paint. It forces air through the paint to keep it fluffed up for you.
It does make the powder paint look like a liquid when you are using it.
