565, 480 or X96
All three of these units are priced pretty close. I have read several post that the eagle 480 has a problem shutting off on you. On the BPS reviews about half of those who purchase this unit said they would not recommend it. The HB 565 seems to get pretty good reviews all around. The Low X96 seem like a decent unit and in the past my experience with Low has been good. I had several HB in the old days and 2 of them are in 30 feet of water. I understand the quality is very good now that MG owns them The HB 565 is carried localy by WM and I get a 10 % discount there. Wife worked there years a go. Which one would you buy?

I know it is not on your list, but consider the HB 575. It has the Quad-beam transducer and will show a wider piece of the bottom and display which side of the boat things are on.

I've not heard of the problem you mention regarding the Eagle 480. I've been running one on the front of my boat for the past 4 years and have had no problem with it whatsoever. It's been a good unit, simple to operate and has good detail.
I'd suggest just going to Bass Pro or somewhere that has them all displayed on simulator. Try em out and see what you like the best.

I have the 480 too and i've never had a problem with mine. Been running it 4 to 5 times a week on average too. 4 seasons on it now. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another to replace it if it ever went bad.

I have a HB 565 and so far I like it.

Another vote for the 480.
