jig head question
Ok so I am new to tying and don't know the sizes of hooks and jigs that well. I have always just looked and grabed sizes I wanted but never paid attention to the actual wieght and or hook size. Well now that I started tying this has become a problem lol. I ordered some 80 oz jig heads because when I ice fish I use really small jigs. well when I got them they are the size of cabelas 64 oz jigs. so what I am wondering is if there is someone who can make me painted jig heads in 80 and 100 oz that are actually small?I'm thinking I would like a 80 or 100 on a size 10 hook? does this sound like a good size for you guys who ice fish if not could someone maybe point me in the right direction?
Thanks
Joe

Joe,
I can think of one explanation why the jig looks like a 1/64 instead of a 1/80th and that is if the jig is made from tin, or a bismuth/tin mix. Jigs of these materials are lighter as the tin or bis/tin don't weigh as much as lead. Usually the weight is 2/3rds or less of the lead jig head.
With lead laws in different states you also have to be careful.
There's a bunch of guys who sell jig heads on this site, check in the for sale section, and call them and tell them what exactly you want and have them give you a price.
