Walmart used to carry some. I don't know if they still do or not.
I use a bait called the fish-n-spin it is a willow leaf blade and tube jig combo. I feel it truly out fishes a beetle spin. I have caught bluegill and crappie in four different states and Canada. The website is Fish-N-Supply, Home of the Fish-N-Spin. Try them I know they will produce for you. I have found tipping them with a crappie nibble to be very effective.

Thanks, those look like what Im after
Thanks BIGBEE 138 & split shot, I have been looking for these also. Just ordered a dozen 1/16 electric blue. Thanks Again :).
Personally, there is nothing like catching fish on a bait I made, or at least assembled, myself. These baits are easy to build & you can make virtually any combination you like.
Jann's Netcraft has all the parts to assemble your own "custom" lures.

Plenty of other places sell this stuff also.
30 years ago the original Beetle was made by Bass Buster lures. I purchased 6 cards (direct from Bass Buster)of 20 bodies per card because I wanted them in the same color, and in a city of 900,000 people where I live, it was impossible to get enough Beetles at any sporting goods store in a popular color and they were always out. The Beetle in 1/32nd oz was deadly for any type panfish when fished SLOWLY at a sink count of 5 b4 reeling. By slow I mean just enough to turn the blade, SLOW. Tied to 4lb test and a ultralite rod, 5 foot "Fiberglas" rod. Fiberglas was soft enough for the take and seemed to get a better hook set on panfish than graphite. I bought at least a 1/2 doz cheap fiberglas rods. On the Beetle, long lining I have taken walleye up to 6 lbs and lots to Northerns biting them off and lots of Bass. I think the Beetle is one of the best lures ever made. Today my Beetles are gone and what is called a Beetle today isn't. Fiberglas rods also are hard to find. The eyes on a Beetle are not large enough today. I have noticed a mfg. has enlarged their eye and the price for the larger eye is about 75 cents more in the pkg than the other brands! The eye is important. Just a note from a old timer who now only fly fishes and it seems to work as well as Beetles.
i make my own also,i use 0 willow leafs with the clevises ,got them on ebay.
As I make my own Mepps style spinners the wire forming tool can make your beetle spin frames too!! and if you make your own jigs all that's left is the plastics.
It's not hard to do at all. But if you're not intersted in going that way get the ones from Janns-Netcraft in the small size as the wire is the closest size to the original beetle spin.
Fatman
the colorado style works fine for all my beetle spin needs.
