About dying chicken feathers, you would IMHO have a mess trying to dye individual feathers just because of the mess unless they were still attached to the cape. (I'm thinking about the drying process)
I imagine you could try and dye them the same way you would a bucktail or a kip tail as long as they were not separated. I have never died chicken feathers though.

Chicken feathers is about all the feathers you see on jigs that are hackle feathers. Some come from Roosters and some flies are tied with hen back to make soft hackle flies.
Yes you can dye them as that is how all the colors come about.

Thank you Skip. You do a fine job on this forum. Perhaps I'll try to dye some hackle like I do kiptail. I'll string it together first and put it in the dye bath.
