As of 2:00p today the river at Augusta is 27.51 feet. I think that is high enough that it would still have Hurricane flooded. The water may be clear though. The Black River lakes were clear the last few weeks Black River was in them.
The bottom will drop out of everything soon. The bottom is dropping out of the Mississippi.
are you talking about hurricane lake in benton? I have always wondered if there are any crappie in there.
It's the Hurricane Lake in the Hurricane Lake Wildlife Management Area between Bald Knob and Augusta.
Rieve, I have wondered the same thing. Is that a private lake, or can anyone fish it?
LRJOE i am pretty sure it is a public lake because it was on the news at one point as a growing housing district and said it was a public lake and from the looks of it on google earth there seems to be a nice boat ramp with lots of parking.
Wonder if the fishing is any good?
Hurricane Lake is NOT public is you are talking about the one in Saline Co. It has big houses all around it.
Henry Gray Hurricane WMA up by Bald Knob is a WMA with lots of small old river lakes that get fished hard. If the White river is at 26ft the WMA is gated off. You can still put a boat in and go by boat. Just can't drive the roads from lake to lake. Very good deer hunitin and sometimes good duck huntin.
