Sugarloaf Crappie
Friend, boy and I went to sugarloaf monday evening and well we got a few. Wind was white capping the water and was almost bad enough to cancel but since we were there why not. The second photo is the 16 that Russell caught (biggest 12 inches) and the next is the 13 plus a bluegill the boy and I caught (biggest was 11.5 inches. Scroll to the bottom for what we were using and small giveaway of jigheads. I lost one of my new rods and reels and was a little upset about it till, I hooked another crappie and leaned to the side of my boat and there on the trolling motor was my rod handle and yes that crappie on that pole ended up in my cooler and my rod and reel back was a great reward.

I started off with catching the first 6 then I asked the other two if they were using my unpainted jigs with the minnows that we were using and no was the answer. They quickly changed from them plain hooks to my 3/32 unpainted jigheads. I laughed when they started catching fish. So to make a believer out of the Arkansas board, minnow fishers. I will give 10 people a free pack of these 3/32 unpainted jigheads to use the next time you fish with minnows. I will pay for the shipping as well. Also no catches or scemes behind this offer. Just P.M. me with your address and I will ship them to you. I was hooking them though the eyes and we was tight lining and drifting though submerged timber. Lee Creek res. will be next target for me.

There we go. It took me some time and duh. I still have 4 packs left. The shine of the tin jigheads give flash to help get the attention of the crappie. Or at least thats what I think. or they see the jig with a minnow chasing it and turns the crappie on as they think a school of bait is coming by and catching a minnow might be easier. This system has outfished minnows on plain hooks 5 times for me so far (I use tied jigs alot). Like I said earlier is that I tight line and drift or slow troll. I would think it would work as well if under a float. Anything free is always good.
