How does a fish finder tella fish from a stick or lillie?
Can it detect a fish when its huddles against a tree?
I sometimes think I expect too much from a finder.
Like it has artificial intelligence that tells it the difference in a stick and a fish.
Any opinions?
You can tell the difference because the fish isn't connected to the bottom. The fish finder just displays the returns, and it's up to you to determine if it's a fish or not. If you have Fish ID (virtually worthless) turned on, it just pops up a fish icon wherever there's something remotely like a fish. If the fish and a stick are within the cone area, they can overlap on the screen, which can make it hard to distinguish the fish.

I've had a few in the past I just ordered a Hummingbird 727c with the wideside transducer. I fish mostly shallow waters 8'-10' so the wideside should work best for me.Quote:
