Me and a buddy fished the Bear again yesterday! We caught 4 slabs, 41 gills and crackers and 7 green carp. Pretty good day but it was hard fishing and it took about 8 hours! Crappie on roadrunners in the coves casting letting it go to the bottom and slow rolling them, Bream on beetle spins and crickets, green carp on blue and chartreuse spinner bait!
Did you see any crappie in deep water. We were down there last weekend catching them in 12-18 feet of water.

We saw quite a few fish in about 16' of water, right off the points but talked to a couple of guys that were there at daylight and they caught 6 fish w/spider rigs, they left about 10:00 said they didn't come to catch bream. I told em I come to catch fish! we went straight to the shallow water.
I bet that was my bro-in-law with the spider rig. Was he in a War Eagle?

Yeah joe he had a war eagle and a pole holder in front of the console, I bet he had 18' jig poles.
MaggiesMaster everybass we caught was fronm site fishing we would watch them run shad back in the shallows sling a spinner bait and hold on!
MaggiesMaster I will agree with you you will do better with a sculling paddle than a trolling motor fishing for the bream in coves!
