To manually create a wayppoint you will have to go into setup and make sure it is in the advanced mode and go down to Position Format. Here you can change it to what ever format your waypoints are in. We have three diffrent formats.
dd.ddddd
dd.mm.mmm
dd.mm.ss
The d stands for degrees. The m stands for minutes. The s stands for seconds.
When you change it herethen hit the exit button to get out of this screen and then go to the NAV menu. Go down to Waypoint and hit the right cursor button, then hit the right cursor button to create the waypoint and it will come up in the format you selected in the setup screen.

Carp Just so you know, if you have a Lowrance that uses the MMC/SD cards, you can save them on one and bring them into the Humminbird then.

What about making you waypoints on EasyGPS program and then downloading the program into the unit.
I've been sitting here trying to manually ad gps cords for wpt's on my 332 Lowrance. I'm using an emulator on the pc. The only way I can get them to take is with the EasyGPS program. Then download them off a card.
For now, that is.
All that I do is hit mark. Then when it saves the waypoint. Hit it and it will give you the option of changing it. Then I put in the waypoint numbers that I need and it will save it.
Do the same thing on my Garmin maps 76C

Shilo, I think he means entering the waypoint cords manually. Like when he knows the cords but isn't on the spot, maybe in his driveway or something.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Your right mike...the boat is in the gargage and I just wanted to enter some waypoints I have written down by hand from the Lowrance. I do think I got them in correctly. Thanks for the format info Joby and to everyone else for offering advice. I always appreciate your patience.
It is my understanding that the manually input (waypoint) must be in the same LOCATION FORMAT as that selected in you HB unit setup (as Mr Humminbird suggested).
if you have degrees, min ,sec selected in setup, you must enter the new data in this location format. Data entered in any other form other than that select in setup will be wrong (off target). You can usually tell by the number of digits the coordinates have what the location format is.
Yep. Everything gotta be done in the advanced mode. Can't do much of nothing in the normal mode (if there is such a thing as normal).
