Took my Dad out today at Iberia and fished all day and brought home both our limits!!!!Water temp in the morning was 68 and 71 when we left. Fished jigs and minnows. Jigs were most productive. Caught most in 4 ft or less of water with 1/16oz orange and charteuse jigs. Midsouth Super Jigs are the bomb! Caught both whites and blacks....more whites though! Wish this front wasn't coming through!:)
I'm heading down as soon as my daughters soccer game is over this afternoon and fishing tonight and tomorrow. Hope they are still hot, especially with the big front coming in tomorrow night when the temps will really drop. Great day on the water. That is around the area I will be fishing.
Had the same water temps, but the air temp going from 80 to low 60's must have messed them up. Caught 3 keepers on Sat. evening and had 7 before leaving around 3 on Sunday. Didn't talk to anyone who was tearing them up. Should have been all over the banks, but were very scattered. I probably caught at least 15 short fish and a ton of small bass, but it was still nice to be out.
Saturday was tough (Nolin), we fished about 9 hours with 25 keepers and at least that many short fish. I have never caught so many scrawny keepers. I caught most of my fish in the river 5'-10' deep. I thought with the water temps they would be shallow and right on the bank.
