Anyone tried this?

I have heard about taking a bowling ball and 3/4" pex pvc pipe and drilling holes in the bowling ball and putting about 6-10 4' pieces of pipe in it, glueing it, and sinking it. A buddy told me that at bowling alleys they will give old bowling balls away for free. It seems similar to a Porcupine fish attractor, but would probably be a good deal cheaper.

Its just my opinion, but the arms on the bottom will just silt in and become buried. I would only put pvc on half of the ball. Stick a few straight out from the sides to keep the ball sitting how you want and then stick a ton of long pieces out of the top
