Midwest Richard Williams
Hello My question is on MyOutdoorTV, Richard is winter fishing with a jig and a huge weight, what looks to be two feet above the jig. How do you fish this set-up? Wouldn't the jig snag, if the weight was bouncing in the cover? Thanks for any help.

I've fished with Richard on a couple of occasions and use his technique all the time. I'll get hung up occasionally, but no more often than when using any other rig.
I usually use either a 3/32 teezur jig or a 1/4 oz Big head jig with a size 2 split shot crimped above them 14" to 16".
A lot of guys like to use a large weight on the bottom of the rig so they can feel the bottom and the brush. I've fished that way as well and at certain times of year that method my work better. But I've had a lot of success fishing open water using just the jig and 1/4 oz weight.
