at C-Land Lake, fishing for Crappie, is limited ... to say the least, but :
you'll find them in pretty much the same places you'd find them on most other lakes ... shallow shoreline brush/wood, stumpbeds, around docks, under floating mats of debris that are blown into pockets/corners, etc.
I'd fish for them whichever way allowed me to present my bait to them, depending on where & how deep they were. Minnows under a slip float, for shallow wood/brush cover along the banks ... jigs for single brush piles, and deeper wood cover ... longline trolling or spider rigging, for prespawn/scattered fish and fish working their way into the backs of creeks/coves (jigs or minnows, depending on your preferred method).
Right now, with the lake being up 8ft over the dam repair depth limit, and muddy from end to end, I wouldn't bother venturing down there. But, with warmer weather, and stabilized water depths ... I'd go into the backs of some of the creeks, and work my way out.
... cp
Thanks crappie pappy canalways count on good info from you , read a lot of your posts , I have fished cumberland once long ago and I couldn't remember any shallow water everything I remember ran straight down , and after reading another post about catching crappie it just got my curiosity up . I have fished below the dam for trout a couple times , anyway thanks again .
