anybody seen lake since rains yesterday? settler's trace?
to know it's flooded :o
Anytime that area gets 1in of rain or more, lake is going to rise several feet ... quickly. According to this chart http://www.lrl.usace.army.mil/wc/reports/lkreport.html the lake is about 8ft over Summer pool.
Click on the dark blue number across from "Taylorsville", and under Todays Pool Feet, and it will show you a chart that lists precip/lake elevation/outflow rate over the last year. You can plainly see the "drought" conditions from June to late Oct, and the high water conditions from Dec 07 til now.
Keeping an eye on these charts has kept me from making a 1.5hr trip to Taylorsville, when conditions were not conducive to good fishing ;)
Just keep your fingers crossed that the lake is back down to Summer Pool, by the middle of next month, and doesn't flood out from then until mid May. Those weeks are the prime spawn period for Taylorsville, and it's had more than its fair share of flooded out spawns over the last few years.

Oh Yeah .... Welcome to Crappie.com !!
Crappiepappy once again you are right on. That lake was a mess last week and can't imagine now what it looks like. That spawn last year was around the last week in April. Taylorsville spawn usually runs about two weeks behind Nolin and Rough. Hope to see ya out there soon though.
it's been my experience that T-ville Crappie spawns, when they do occur, seem to run thru the last week of April into the second week of May ... if the rains don't flood them out. I rarely ever considered going there, until at least the 2nd week of April, and then only if the weather & water conditions were favorable.
If/when I do get to go to T-ville, I'll try and remember to post about it, beforehand ... and maybe we'll run into you, and some of the other T-ville gang, and compare notes.

Good deal......Let ya know how I do.
