Thrill did you get out any today and fight the rain and storms?Tub boy wanted to go today but he had trap shooting competition.Think he has practice Sunday down at Henry Horton State park.I told him joining it would really mess up his fishing but he dont listen to me.
I never ditch the 1/8 oz :p
Naw...found out that Advance Auto sold me a bad caliper last week, so I got that fixed, helped my sister move, and went by the granite wholesale place and looked at some slabs.
Gettin out there to troll the hell outta that new spot that I found. Between big boo condos, and the schools of fish that I saw Friday, I'm gonna put extra effort into trolling it for a few hours. Push come to shove, I'll go the the tried and true spots, but I'm confident that I'll get a few fish outta that spot I told you about.
Last time I trolled, it was with 1/8th oz jigs. I figured that during the spawn/ prespawn that you'd have to go w/ a lighter weight. Now that I think about it, I guess that all of the fish don't go on bed at the same time, so some will still hang out in those deeper depths.......
Yeah , thats just my personal preference. The 1/8 oz makes my floater sit just right;)
*LOL* I like bobber fishing too. 1/16th oz jig head, red/chartreuse jig w/ crappie nibbles injected w/ the bait pump under a pear shaped bobber. Or.....a weighted pencil float, 2 bb shot, a red Mr. Crappie light wire hook and a minnow hooked thru the back. FISH ON!!!!!!!!!
And dont forget your cold weather gear, it gets chilly on Douglas:D:D:D
dont have no certain water temp to change watch your depth finder if fish show up 12 ft or shallower either speed up if that dont work go with a 1/16 its all a lot of trial an error a lot of it depends on the lake you are on charger is right about the 1/8 on douglas an cherokee you can pretty much fish it yearround an catch fish our fish usually suspend about 12 to 15 ft except when they go to the bank to spawn so the 1/8 is perfect for this depth
