I have been reviewing the message board for a couple of years thought it time I sign in. I fish South Arkansas river oxbows but will venture away when Mississippi is not cooperating. As a child my dad lived in the woods and always new where the crappie were bitting. Plan to venture over to Lake Wallace or Chicot Saturday. Will let you know what I find!

SeaArk, I sure am glad you decided to jump on in. As your probably aware by now we dont have many folks giving reports down that way so we look forward to your post.
Fishing that part of the state your probably like ole CEB and you dont have more than 20 foot of line on any single reel since you fish that skinny water.

I'm a spring chicken too, but figured you could use all of the howdy's and welcome's you can get. I plan on fishing the "fish & eat" on the 29th at Conway. Hope you can make it too.

Hey, SeaArk, enjoyed our chat on Gurdon. Did well on Gurdon, whatever day, lose track of my days when always fishing, but have to work for them, they are still scattered. Some gill's showing up in shallows. Catching alot (gills) off the bridge between White Oak Lake and crappie are starting to hit again in the state park. Haven't fished Bragg yet. Catch u later. Howdy SeaArk, like you I fish the natural waters, mostly in White & Cache River bottoms above Des Arc. Caught 6 yesterday, one dandy, below the tiles on Des Arc bayou, east of Garner. The big one and a couple of smaller ones had eggs in them so in the shallower water that we fish , spawn not far off. The water for most part in this area still high , can't fish my old reliable spots yet.
Good fishin to you!
