I went out for a while on the upper end today, a lot of trash in the water. No luck, not even a nibble, water temp between 47.5 and 48.2 . Anyone found any? Mabe I am not holding my mouth right.

Took the boat out for the first time this year. The motor run good, and I finally got to troll for crappie. This type fishing is new for me. o bites, but I can tell I am going to enjoy spider rigging. Looks like my set up is going to work good. All my rods were stable, even with the wind. I was in spence creek.
Yea I need to learn how to troll, still crappie fish the old way I guess....treetops and boat docks.
I've got to get up Douglas and let sinkum and the boy's teach me how it's done.
I cant believe no one is fishing hickory besides me and lloyd??
I was there 2 weeks ago and found crappie in my "secret holes" . I had 6 keepers and several others. all on a chartruse feather jig in about 5 feet of water.
I've been wanting to get out on Old Hickory and check out some of my old spots in Rocky Creek and Little Cedar Creek. That's a good half hour/45 min drive for me to put in at the Hunter's Point Ramp. I can walk out my front door and have my boat in Percy Priest lake in under 5 min.
I think that they is a lot of current on the lake. The river below the dam is still up about 4 or 5 feet and really running. Monday morning it was up about 8 or so feet and muddy. Someone said that they had Center Hill gates open and were really running a lot of water out of there. The color here is back to about normal and not so many trees, trash etc coming down now. Should be OK in a few days.
Just got back from spence creek.... more of the same O. did find some promising spots. water temp 50 to 52 in spots.
Hey guys, I'm new to the forum, but I will be fishing Old Hickory too. I am going to give it a shot this Monday 3/17. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm planning to fish Cedar Creek and a couple other spots.
