Conway 2-24-08
I made it out there today around 3 o'clock. Talked to Dan about the great time you all had there yesterday and set out. When I got back to the pool there around 6 boats. Starting out, I only saw two different guys catch one fish each. Things were real slow until around 5, when the bite picked up. First fish was right at 1 1/2 lbs. I ended up bringing home 6, lost 3 right at the boat and lost another 3 or 4 right after setting the hook. It ended up being a decent day for only 3 hours. I put all the fish I caught in my pond to try and build up my stock. But I can tell you one thing, peoples' attitudes and patience are growing thin back there. I wasn't part of any of it, but I was witness to this one guy getting pissed off and roaring out of there almost wide open.... I have no idea what happened, only that after he left out, people were talking out loud about it. I was talking to Dan about it when I got back and he said that another guy left upset after having words with some guy also. These were two seperate incidents. I hope this isn't a trend.

Sounds like you did much better than we did on Sat! Congrats!
We had a couple of young guys come in on top of us Sat that kept casting their baits close enough to us to splash water on the side of our boat like they were wanting to start something. Luckily for them since I had Miss Tammy with me I just let it go and moved, not worth starting up anything. I guess the crowd in there can make some folks act a little crazy.

well of course the fish did a little better on sunday.have a buddy named justin caught 5 daylight to 10:30 with 2 slabbers wich is still very slow for him.thats why he quit,he has been getting minimum of 12- 15 fish each trip for the last 3 weeks.also 2 others did a few fish.the afternoon improved with sportsman001 getting 6,stormy fred got 6 as well.carhart man and a buddy caught 14 sitting on one top, with 2 at 1 1/2 lbs.now what the big fuss was about.man in old green fiberglass boat wheeled in 2-3-pm went right to a top in the pool caught 10 in 30 min ended up with 14.during this stormy fred caught a little close to him-and he took it offensive.oh yeah i got a new job description-fishcamp counseler.well i talked with both of them and they are going to be fine.seems they both had a bad day the day before.a few words were exchanged.carhart bibman was here as well only had 6 due to catering to his little girl.about 2 others hardly done anything.Gotta Loveit!

I saw those two young guys as well. They were fishing the shallow water, to the right, just beyond the road bridge. I motored by them, waved, and went to my spot under the walking bridge. They had seen me catch fish there before.
Just as I got set up, there they were. They set up about 10 feet from me. They asked some questions, and I answered them. Not one time did they ask if I minded if they fished with me. One time they threw into my lines. I did not say anything, I just picked up and left.
I don't mind anyone fishing with me. I sure don't mind anyone on this board coming and fishing with me on a top, but those boys did not even ask. If I am catching fish and CEB or anyone is coming by, I will be the first to ask if they want to drop a line in. Sounds like those boys just need some smarts.

I noticed those boys close to you as well. I was going to slip by around yall until I noticed I would cross another guy's lines he had cast about 300' in 4 directions. You were just about out of room there.
While we are on theis subject, I have seen tempers flare more than once in the pool. But, one time I was fishing in Gold Lake. I notice a boat was picking up a few; he must have run out of bait or something. Another boat had been circling him and moved in. The first boat returned shortly after and started the biggest cuss fight I have ever heard. Then one took swing at the other with a 5' pole. It was on then. It looked like Zorro was in those boats. Finally commen since prevailed and after proclaiming "if he had a gun, he would shoot holes in your boat", one of them left.
I got into it one time with a guy that had a trot line stretched about a half mile across the boat lane out of Adam's Lake. He was running it so far a way from me I had no Idea I would get it tangled in my prop. He started toward me like he wanted some of me. I told him that if I get untangeled before he gets there, I would run over him and get him wet.

Glad somebody caught a few yesterday. I fished most of the morning and only caught one keeper. Talked to a few other boats and the best report I heard was 2. Definitely the slowest day I've had in there this year.

I hate to say it. THis is why I haven't been back fishing the pool much. It really ticks me off to have someone come in on me and act like they have no etiquette. If they were polite or said sorry it would not be an issue. I have had a guy run into my poles when I'm spider riging and look at me like it's my fault. I will help out someone, give tips, and be nice but if there going to be an butt hole. well i'll try to be nice.

most guys are really good here, but the same in most social situations you have a few bad apples, maybe we'll find a way to weed them out!im working on it,agfc dont tolerate poor sportsmanship.i was working my way from the bridge to the pool about 2 yrs ago an old man was on the bank fishing- started lecturing me about i was too close to his grandson.the boy was swatting at the water with his pole.itold the man i was 20yrds from him.he mouthed some more and i ignored him-bit my tongue.i waited till he moved on then continued on.needless to say i have'nt seen him again.and glad!Bigfishin-we have missed you here.crowds have not been bad at all.with exception of one saturday about 2-3 weeks ago.todays report is -out of 6 boats one had 10 fish, another had 9,2 guys had 7.i went out this afternoon 2 hrs before dark, tightlining working trough the bridge and channel finally picking up a keeper after 1 hr,then between the bridge and 1rst brushpile i was trolling with orange and chartreuse jig, pink head, tipped with a rosey.then bam i hooked fishzilla.i landed it-sware looked like 3lbs. caught 1 more keeper.had to go weigh it.my personal record of 2.25lbs,now beat with 2lbs 10.5 ounces.feels good. close to 3.
