I like Ande Envy (Bright Green) for my jigging poles.
why do you use colored line?
hello, i'm confused. how do you make depth marks on your line
Black magic maker.
thank you that thought never crossed my mind. just keeping it simple. have a good one
I have half my poles with red cajun line and the other half with red and green camo line. It seems to disappear in the water the best. I don't regret using either one. It has increased my catches since I fish mostly clear water.
We make about a 6-inch black mark on our line at 20-feet with a permanant marker by measuring off the pole. On the 11-foot jig poles I use we stick the jig in the butt end of the pole, reel the line snug and mark the line right in front of the reel, which makes the lower end of the mark 20-feet from the jig. Then depending on where the mark is we know exactly how deep we are fishing when the line is vertical. When we're fishing over 30-feet deep we'll make a red mark at 30-feet by putting the black mark (20-feet) at the tip of the pole and marking the line in front of the reel.
These are the markers I like - http://www.andersons-online.com/Prod...k__25_164.html. The have a little better ink in them than the Sanford markers. If you make the mark in warm dry weather it will last most of the day. In cool damp weather we have to re-mark the line every few hours but it only takes a few seconds.
