Gold Creek weekend report (pics)
Went to the pool on Saturday during the toad-floater. Started around 8ish and left around 1:30. Caught 13 good eaters and probably 8 throwbacks. Caught 'em on rosies from 1-5' deep suspended over the deeper water. Dan weighed 'em for me and ended up with a pair of 1.5 and one 1.12. Rained a little harder than I would like, but the pool wasn't too crowded...:D
Biggest 3 from Sat...can you tell how cold it was?

Went back today for some more action. Dano's reports of big hawgs coming out of there has got me pumped. Water had come up at least 8", as Dan said. Could barely fit under the pedestrian bridge... Water was pretty muddy. But the crappie were bitin' like crazy. Started off with a small throwback while I was gettin' the rods out, and the morning just kept gettin' better afterwards. Fish were chasin' shad everywhere, so I hunted for 'em with rosies set at 2' deep. Caught about 17 by 10am. One crappie hit so hard, I thought the pole was actually gonna break...I was burning across there with the trolling motor on high, not really fishing but just moving to another part of the pool...and out of nowhere, here's comes a big ol' goodurn on my outside rod. She bent at least 3/4 of the rod underwater... Fish started slowing down a little after 10am. Finished out my limit on rosies at about 4' deep. All the crappie were good'uns...most around the 1lb mark. Big fish was 1.14, weighed by dano himself. Well, that's my report for the weekend, and just a little appetizer for next weekend's get-together. Now for a few pics...
