3 bank battery chargers
If you were going to mount a 3 bank charger..what kind would you recommend and if its on a Fisher 1654 jon boat with an extended front deck where would you mount it? Ive got a 24V trolling motor with the 2 batteries under the deck as far toward the middle of the boat as possible (just inside the storage hole). Then a single battery in back for the electronics. Maybe mount one under the front deck? I though it would be convenient to mount it inside the boat in the back...but it would be exposed to the weather more there. What about mounting it back there with some sort of metal cover over it? Any input would be appreciated.

sorry for the double post...satellite internet is overratted!

Your right about Satellite internet! I would put it in the middle with the two batteries and run a set of wires to the electronics battery. Good luck

You don't have to worry about these new ones being exposed to the weather. They are completely sealed and no moving parts.

you can always just buy a box for the battery there only like 15-20 bucksss at you local auto parts store
just in case your clueless on what im talking bout

John. Im aware of what a battery box looks like. Or are you suggesting I put the charger in a battery box? I am talking about a box to protect a battery charger. Not a battery.

lol my bad i misread i thought you were talking bout the battery not the charger, please forgive my ignorance lol

I've had a Minn Kota brand for about two years and so far so good.
It has 6' charging leads, the IOM says if these are not long enough to install a terminal block in between then a fuse within 7" of the battery.
They advertise it as waterproof so where you mount it should not matter a lot. Go for convenience!

I've been running a 2-bank MinnKota for three years that is exposed to the weather with no problems----just put a 3-bank MK on my new boat.

I have the 3 bank ProSport ll from Cabelas and I like it.I had a two bank in my older boat an liked it also.. And they offer 15' lead extenders for these chargers.
