I need some opinions!
Some of you know I have wiring issues. I am thinking about moving my trolling batteries forward in my boat, instead of hassling with the wire under the floor.
I have a 2072 SeaArk which is .125 guage, double ribbed from middle forward (TO PREVENT TWISTING), and have aluminum flooring. That said I have a 30 gal fuel tank up front already and I am concerned if the added weight to far forward is going to have an affect on the twisting in rough water.
I know it may sound a little retarded in a big boat, but I already get some twist reguardless.
Being that there is no weight in the middle and weight at both ends... I was just concerned.
It would be a lot more convenient to access, charge, and wire if they were up front. It would also clear out my console.
I was thinking about using some of the existing #10 TM wires for my accessory power up front; lights, sonar, anything else. I figure #10 wire is plenty if all the accessories ran at the same time. Of course they will be directly linked to the main power already provided under the console.
Just seems to be an easy fix and give me all I want with the accessory power and #6 wire for TM, but there is that one factor of whether it is safe and will not cause damage.
Thanks

I don't know about the twist factor but that is a lot of weight to be moving up there. That 30 gal tank, when full, is equivalent to another person sitting up there. How about moving them up there temporarily then go for a ride a see how she handles? If you do it make sure they are well secured as that is the roughest riding part of the boat.

I think that all that might stop or hamper your plane. Also might cause boat to "PLOW" in rough water. I know the body's of water you are in,and they can kick up a good one. Might want to have fuel in middle of boat or batteries in middle. Just a thought.

Question, does your boat have ribs up the side every little bit, typical of a jon boat? I ran my wiring under those ribs inside the wire protectors you can purchase at auto parts houses. Kept the weight where it should be and protected the wires. Also put one of those plane attachments on the motor to get the boat up on plane better and faster. All the weight moved forward and a fishing partner up there could spell trouble. Good luck and be safe. Ferdi aka fred
